The therapist is skilled: therapist provides client with undivided attention, and shows concern relationship developed. psychodynamic therapy: based on freud"s idea of repressed conflcits: psychodynamic also focuses on repressed conflicts, but the conflicts are not necessarily sexual in nature, emphasis is on exploring childhood experiences that may have upset the client. client-centered therapy: dones not focus on the past: carl rogers: present a perspective not based on unconscious conflicts. emphasis is on focusing a warm and genuine relationship between the client and therapist. gestalt therapy: fritz perls, emphasized the importance of experiencing the moment (the here and now). For the treatment of depression: pattern of behaviour is amaladaptive. situation is not as bad as patient described. challenge the negative way of thinking: correct the misconception and help patient to be less anxious. Identify the problem and modify the attitude towards problem.
