You have been asked to place a paper and three contemporary items from your generation in a time capsule that will be placed in a cornerstone of a public building. This cornerstone will be opened in the year 2100, at which time it will be read by the people of the community.

Think about two things:

a. What information about your generation do you want future generations to know? This will be the focus of your paper.

b. What items will you choose to place in the time capsule? Why did you choose these items?

Write your paper as a scene or a series of scenes. Remember, each scene should have a beginning, a middle, and an end. Also remember that each scene should do one or more of the following

a. Provide exposition

b. Describe character

c. Advance the plot

Explain how each one of these elements can be found in your scene or scenes.

Choose at least four (4) items from each of the three (3) lists below. Weave these four items into three related or scenes to create a story.

For instance, you might decide to write a paper about tracks in the snow that lead to a diamond necklace that hangs from a graveyard tombstone.

At that point, a raspy laugh breaks the silence of the night, and mysteriously the tracks in the snow end abruptly.

NOTE: Your submission must contain at least three scenes and follow the general rules for 'scene.' Each scene must have a beginning, middle, and end. Each scene should do one or more of the following:
