1- OLAUDAH EQUIANO WAS 11 YEARS OLD WHEN HE AND HIS SISTER WERE KIDNAPPED FROM HIS VILLAGE WHILE THE ADULTS WERE AWAY WORKING IN THE FIELDS. AFTER A JOURNEY OF SEVERAL DAYS, OLAUDAH AND HIS SISTER WERE SEPARATED, AND FOR THE NEXT SIX OR SEVEN MONTHS OLAUDAH WAS SOLD SEVERAL TIMES TO AFRICAN MASTERS IN DIFFERENT COUNTRIES. EVENTUALLY HE ENDED UP ON THE WEST COAST OF AFRICA, WHERE HE WAS PLACED ONBOARD A SLAVE SHIP HEADED FOR THE WEST INDIES.
