Somatosensation is a term that includes all different sensations that are received from mucous membranes, skin, joints, and limbs. The somatosensation tends to take place all over the body's exterior locations and at certain interior locations. Different types of receptors that are embedded in the mucous membrane and skin play a significant role in somatosensation.
