The prokaryotic bacteria which is considered the simplest and smallest of cells also might get attacked by a certain category of viruses. The virus that is specifically involved in targeting the bacteria is referred to by the term bacteriophages. A bacteriophage generally has both cycles namely the lysogenic and lytic cycles.
