Consider a technician came back from his weekend off and realized pipettes were not put away or placed in their designated area. technician also realized the P1000 pipettes aren't calibrated and when checking the records, there is only one record of the pipettes being calibrated once throughout the month by the weekend technician. 

I work in a lab where all the pipettes are shared. We often havevisiting students who come and use the pipettes for a shortproject. So when I work with them, they might have been handled byother people several times since I last used them. This leads me toworry that they might have been mishandled, or become less accuratesomehow.
