The belief that people fall into distinct and complementary genders (man and woman) with natural roles in life. Assumes that heterosexuality is the only sexual orientation or only norm. Sexual and marital relations are most (or only) fitting between people of opposite sex. The type of queer that is accepted in society. It gets better campaigns and gay anthems are saying look at me i"m successful, it"s a message of hope. Productive but also lines up with the logic of what is acceptable queerness, doesn"t challenge the status quo. It doesn"t get better; you have to actively make it better. A person"s emotional and sexual attraction to a particular sex. Queer: to define not just non-heterosexual orientations, but also willful rejection of the hegemony of sex/gender normativity. Sexuality is not just determined by the sex of the desire partner. Sex acts mean different things to different people. Sex as key to gender identity for some, not for others.
