It is when we ask ourselves if we can actually do the task at hand. It is the expectation of being able to enact the behaviors needed to achieve the goal. Efficacy focuses on the individual"s ability to accomplish a particular task. Self-efficacy is one"s self-efficacy is the belief in one"s abilities to accomplish a goal. Self-efficacy is more important to judgement of how well one can come with a situation, giving the skills a person has in relation to the task they are facing. The difference is that efficacy is the power to accomplish a goal, whereas motivation because it induces approach or avoidance behavior. When we believe we are good at something, we will be motivated to approach that behavior.
