Document Summary

Define globalization: it is the widening, deepening, and speeding up of worldwide interconnectedness. It is evident in every sphere, from economic to cultural. Yes, it is undermining the salience of nation-states . Hyperglobalists believe globalisation is dissolving our borders. Globalization brings about the demise of the sovereign nation state. It undermines the ability of governments to control their own economies and societies: the us"s role/hegemony. The dollar is the world"s reserve currency, so what happens in the united states, happens everywhere. This is out of the control of domestic borders. Other countries are dependent on the us dollar: crises. When the us collapsed in 2008, so did other countries. Breakup of the ussr - all started because of estonia.
