They break down large-scale cognitive processes into adaptive problems/tasks so they can look for the adaptations that solve those problems (cid:862)highe(cid:396)(cid:863) (cid:373)e(cid:374)tal p(cid:396)o(cid:272)esses: Conclusion: our adaptive mental processes all evolved through natural selection. Adaptions emerge in development as a result of the activation of relevant genes in interaction with relevant aspects of the environment. Adaptations arise and stabilize due to natural selection.
