Looking at course learning goals helps in knowing the larger context in which to frame all your exams. Throughout this course, students will gain an understanding of: The venues in the canadian context where policy acion and change occurs. How and why diferent actors involved/excluded from poliical acion. How federalism, the consituion, naionalism, ethno-racial diversity, globalizaion and other uniquely canadian factors. Pluralism: resources and strategy (the other power forms are a criique of pluralism) Class analysis (marxism: control of capital (the next two are a criique of class based analysis of power) Feminism: patriarchy realized through the state and social relaions. Post modernism: difuse systems of control, knowledge as power. First naion"s poliics and the eventual acceptance of the court for their oral (depending on the sub topic or case study some forms of power will be more relevant than knowledge systems others) They can be formal writen rules, or unsaid norms.
