They love spams which is a form of meat. So popular in the hawaii that mcdonalds has even incorporated into their menu there spam for breakfast (spam and eggs) Taste is what the tongue perceives and signals the brain to recognize. Flavour is a combination of all our senses. The tongue we don"t fully understand how it works and what we do know about it changes overtime. In order for us to taste there needs to be moisture and the water has to dissolve whatever solid you are consuming. We used to believe that there are only 4 fundamental flavours we now learned that there are many more 40 distinct basic tastes. The most bitter substance (natural ingredient) is rue very close to it is absent often flavoured with rue to some extent. There are various receptors in the taste buds.
