Law and order exist for the purpose of establishing justice and when they fail in this purpose they become the dangerously structured dams that block the flow of social progress . Sometimes the law is reflective of public opinion, sometimes it shakes it. The law is not necessarily strict, it can change, and it can promote change. Social justice is sometimes individual, it comes from an individual sense. Folkways established norms of common pratices such as those that specify modes of dress, etiquette, and language use. Taboos are norms that are so deeply ingrained that the mere thought or mention of it is enough to arouse disgust or revulsion (e. g. , incest, child pornography, etc) Mores societal norms associated with intense feeligns of right or wrong and definite rules of conduct that are simply not to be violated are more serious in nature than folkways. These norms tend to be formalized and tend to appear as laws (eg. stealing, murder)
