Therefore, these chants will be considered music because at least the listeners believe its" music. It sounds absolutely horrible, and not even remotely close to music. However, just because my western ideologies and conceptions lead me to not believe that this piece can be music doesn"t mean that it isn"t. Therefore, our perceptions can be heavily skewed by our western teachings, so we need to be quite careful and examine all possibilities before we judge a piece. Meaning in music: meaning is what gives music an assertive definition, until some meaning is associated to sounds, these sounds remain hollow and un- received, there are two ways music can be meaningful, in relation to one another. Every note, compliments another in some way, and makes a song.
