Hubble"s extremely deep field an image composed of 10 days of exposures taken by the hubble space telescope: able to estimate the total # of galaxies in the observable universe. We can only measure motion relative to a given reference frame. Velocity the combination of speed and direction of motion: it can be stated as the speed in a certain direction. Acceleration the rate at which an object"s velocity changes (measured in m/s^2) No object with mass can ever exceed the speed of light. The speed of light is the same in all reference frames invariant. The speed of an object is different in difference reference frames. Foundations of special relativity: we can only measure speeds of objects relative to each other, the speed of light is invariant. If 2 observers are moving relative to each other, they must agree on the speed of light but it means that they disagree about the timing of the event.
