1) Series od Revolution in 1830 Minor events
Revolution has broken out in France in 1830
Even by the 1830 the revolution from the hopes of America and
France remain strong
Calls for a morel liberal, republican call of order. The continent of
Europe has many monarchs, even in France there is a new monarch
but their ideas have not disappeared.
o Calls for constitutionalism- one of the major ideas in the
earlier revolutions. - The ideas that a state should be
governed by a constitution- which guarantees induvial rights,
protection from the wimps of royalty.
o Also increased calls for nationalism- conviction that people
of a common culture or language are the best and the ultimate
basis for a political organization. Those people should be
control of their own governance. People who have culture in
common
States can be made up of many national groups
Series of Revolutions
In 1830 serious of revolutions in Europe, France, Italy, Poland, Dutch
was given Belgium - Belgium - revolution in Belgium and in 1830
becomes it own state
In only 2 years in 1832 the great powers used their concert system to
decide who could intervene where and when.
The great powers meet find solutions.
The ideas remain alive- nationalism does not go away
Nationalism and constitutionalism as ideas has not disappeared nor has
fear of revolution.

Maverick was very fearful of revolution because Austria has the most
national groupings in it. He sees the liberalism that will undermine
the empire.
2) Revolution of 1848 don’t get what the revolutionist planned
By 1848 there is a new serious of revolution.
They begin in France.
France after 1830 has become a continuation monarch. Still a monarch
in France.
A group of French men want to change French politics. They organize
democratic banquets- big feasts, cover to organize political. The
government of the day decides banquets are illegal. The banqueters
hold the biggest banquet they can, and hold a recession in Paris.
French soldiers are called to meet the banqueters. It is used to whip
up of a frenzy, served as a rally call for those who believed in the
revolution ideals. It does turn into a open revolt.
The king of France will abdicate, France will be without a king by the
end of 1848. French issue but also the rest of Europe is in a problem.
The last time there was a French revolution that won it turned Europe
into a war for 15 years.
The new government in France reassured the other states of Europe
that France believes in the principle of seventy to challenge French
borders. There is a hope that the revolution would be a blip on the
radar, just like the revolution of 1830. But it is not, the French
revolution gives hope to other states, especially in Holy alliance.
In 1848 there are many revolutions in Europe, many states are sending
France messages asking for advice, and looking at France for
inspiration.
A month after the French revolution break out there is a revolution in
Austria in Vienna, students get in a clash with Austrian troops,
Maverick who managed Austrian diplomacy, resign. Revolution is the
end for him. This is the temporary end for Austrian government and
power. Austrian is temporally paralyzed as a great power. Its
constituents parts Hungary and Italy seek their own political gain.
Revolution also goes to Prussia
