What is a process evaluation? What is its main purpose?
A process evaluation looks back on the process of implementation and focuses on measures
what went poorly and what went well.
It’s main purpose is to describe how closely the program implementation followed protocols,
how successful it was in reaching and recruiting members, etc.
What occurs during the process evaluation and what is the context focused on? What else
is measured? What stage does it occur during?
During the process evaluation, practitioners track and report how many products were
distributed which equates to the quality of the program, but should not be the sole focus of a
program.
Context is focused on the presence of any cofounding or natural occurring factors that can
affect program participation and results.
Recruitment, reach and response are also measured in a process evaluation

How does the element relate to the strategy used? What must evaluators ensure
regarding data strategies?
The element that is evaluated will largely affect the appropriate strategy. Certain elements can
be addressed by one or a combination of strategies. Evaluators must ensure that data strategies
are used appropriately so that data is not extrapolated beyond its natural function.

the most common methods?
When used in formative evaluation, it tests components of a program, products, and services w/
the priority population prior to implementation of the program.
