Document Summary
Describe the anatomy of each component of the external genitalia. Describe spermatogenesis and identify the important stages of sperm development. Examine the role of accessory organs in the production of semen reproductive structures. Ducts transport, store and assist in maturation of sperm. Accessory glands secrete most of the semen volume. Penis is the copulatory organ, containing the urethra, a passageway for semen (& urine) External genitalia scrotum: ibromuscular sac, pigmented skin and supericial fascia, responds to temperature change. Between the two layers is the tunica vaginalis cavity - contains serous luid. Ibrous capsule - white coating inner surface of the testes thicker, denser covering. Cremasteric fascia - descends from internal oblique. External spermatic fascia - descends from external oblique o constituents equivalent to uterine artery in females.
