Document Summary

Few students today have lived under a rock! You"ve all heard of terms such as warp drive, and hyperspace, and maybe even wormholes. Even your old(er) professor of this course (and a fan of star wars movies) knows these terms. A wormhole is supposed to be a way through spacetime that connects two parts of the universe via a shortcut or tunnel that we call a wormhole. This would allow us to travel from earth, say, to a distant star or galaxy by taking a wormhole thereby shortening the travel time. No known laws of physics preclude them; they are solutions to the equations of the general theory of. Relativity; but there are significant limitations on their use. So far we don"t know where to find them or what to look for and, therefore, they appear to be a theoretical curiosity. This form of time travel is not yet a possibility and may never be.
