Bottom part of diamond is the earliest stages. Where children are introduced to skilled themes and movement cones. Initial focus is developing understanding of space, awareness, effort, and relationships. These will eventually become the foundational skills for many sports and pa that they will pursue later on. Widening as you go up suggests that more skills are added later. Focus shift from building skills to using skills. Skills continue to be developed and learned. Exposing students to a wide variety of sports and pa. This exposure is designed to stimulate the interest in lifelong pa. Some youngsters like yoga, some like team sports, and some like indivdiausl sports. Exposing them to types of sports at a young age allows them to discover the types of activities that are personably enjoyable and meaningful. Exposure to different sports stimulates interest in a handful of activities. Diamond begins to narrow when they enter high school.
