List of organ systems: digestive system, respiratory system, circulatory system, lymphatic system, skeletal system, endocrine system, reproductive system, nervous system, urinary system, muscular system. Organ system interacts closely with each other. Some organs are classified according to anatomy rather than function. Kidney and large intestine help in waste removal but kidney is part of excretory system and large intestine is part of digestive system. The first x-ray photograph was taken in 1895 by german physicist wilhelm. Roentgen used x-ray to take picture of his wife"s hand. (denser bone) In 1898, walter cannon was the first person to use x-ray to view soft tissue. When a patient drank the bismuth mixture, the x-rays were unable to penetrate through gastrointestinal organs that were stained, resulting in a white image of organs on black background.
