According to history, abraham was born in the city of ur in babylonia. He is venerated by jews, christians and muslims as the father of faith (denny 11). Terah, an idol merchant, but from early childhood abraham questioned the religion and traditions of his father and the people of ur. In islam, abraham is seen as a monotheist who called his people to the worship of god alone and is the trademark of some major islamic traditions. He is given much importance in the quran and in islam and is worthy of being known as one of the most crucial influence in islamic history and religion. Abraham established the central idea of islam; islamic traditions would not have been the way they are now if it was not for abraham"s contributions, introducing monotheism, the concept of hajj and sacrifice and the construction of the kabba.
