We lost roman law which replaced feudal law. Loss of roman law and what impact that had. In the roman empire the successful emperors had skill and wisdom. The successful emperors were able to manage the diversity and ethnicity of religions. The dominant religion was christianity but te best emperors were always able to be flexible. Heresy is a false belief someone who is thinking wrong. The best emperors were sometimes christians and sometimes heretics themselves. Some of the emperors would honour the orthodox churches. The people who practiced the roman rituals were called pageants. The emperor were often called barbarians, conquered people, who became romanized and christianized. They had a practical minded approach to ruling the empire. It was not self consciously moral it was more practical to avoid meaningless conflict. In 529 of the common era justinian comes to power. Justinian was a fundamentalist and a metllic catholic.
