In this passage, the author indicates that the gun registry in both canada and especially the united. States not only encourages the carrying of a firearm but it"s two primary functions that the registry inclines are not effective nor does it intend to do what it purposes. The decrease in activity argument asserts that the placement of the registry will, in fact, decrease the use of guns for criminal activity. This argument is evidently an appeal to ignorance the opponent"s inability to prove something as evidence for the truth of the arguer"s own conclusion. The author argues that most crimes are committed with unregistered and illegal handguns, often either stolen from individuals who have registered their guns or with guns illegally imported from the united states.
