Puberty: stage of development when boys bodies begin to develop and change into a young men. When human body reaches a certain weight, it releases a hormone called: gonadotropin which onsets puberty. When a boy is between 8-12 years old, the gonadotropins are released into the bloodsteam; they stimulate activity in the gonads and produce changes in the male testes in order to prepare the body for reproduction. Physical changes 10-12 years old +/- 2 years. Acne causes pimples on face, upper back and chest areas. Body begins to grow faster (how tall depends on genetics) (different parts of the body grow at different rates leading to awkward appearance) Growth of glandular tissue of the breasts leading to chest with breast-like formations. (caused my hormones in body and can be exaggerated by obesity: hormones will subside and will disappear) Voice lowers and deeper. (sign is their vocal chords crack and squeak) Facial hair and hair on body will be thicker.
