Explain the democraic strengths and weaknesses of canada"s parliamentary system. One of the three funcions of a legislature or parliament is the governmental funcions. This includes forming governments, creaing policies, ensuring the government is accountable for its acion, and seing communicaion with the ciizens. Canada has a parliamentary system of government, in contrast to the united states who runs on a presidenial system. Parliamentarianism is the principle that governments are formed by prime ministers (as opposed to heads of state) and are therefore primarily responsible to parliament . On the other hand, presidenialism is the principle that the president of a republic is the head of the government . This essay will discuss the democraic strengths and weaknesses of canada"s parliamentary system. First, responsible government is one of the key features of canada"s parliamentary system. Responsible government does not only mean that the government is responsible to the people of diferent races, genders, or religions.
