(hint: look at the welcome message , A few words about this course : gender is socially & historically constructed. 2: gender is a differentiated category concept of intersectionality. An interesting approach to defining key concepts is to come up with your own initial definition, and then come up with a definition based on the lecture and/or readings compare these. Lecture definition: gender roles are not static & relations between the sexes are not always the same. Talking about gender means talking about power (both formal and informal), privilege, authority & control. Note that you should return to this in later weeks as we discuss this in more detail.
