Gws 10 the end of educated democracy wendy brown. Democracy is increasingly being threatened as american values shift to favor practical applicability and earning potential over a liberal arts approach to educated citizenship. Democracy literally translates to rule of the people or poor ; it is a political form in which the people are sovereign. Democracy is the name of a political form in which the people are sovereign, in which the whole, rather than merely a part, rules the polity and hence itself.
