I do believe math is an ongoing student endeavor as stated in the second paragraph. In math through the ages, the book compares math to learning about a person. The more you know about a person the more you are able to understand the person. However just like a person can change over time, mathematics evolves too. Mathematicians are constantly finding out new ways to solve problems, new formulas and completely new routes to doing ordinary calculations. Therefore, math will always be an ongoing student endeavor. In my own experiences math is like getting to know a person in the way that the more. I know about a person the more i can understand them. In math the more math i known, the more in depth i can go into math. For instance, i would not have been able to exceed in calculus iii without calculus ii.
