This paper targets students, specifically, young woman at the university of maryland. I am exploring the topic of how important it is to take care of your body and the affects social media has on women"s perception of body image. Women, from middle school to college, are feeling the pressure to look a certain image, which may be destroying and diminishing the self confidence they have. Because of the huge impact social media has on women and young teenagers today, it is slowly becoming recognizable that magazines, and models are beginning to embrace different body types and encourage people to be active and healthy. Many young people are aware of the impact that images and models have on them, because they aspire to look and be just like them. I believe it is a significant subject because not everyone is quick to admit how much the media may or may not impact the society we live in.
