Loving an individual makes them your equal. If people treat someone as unequal, he will begin to believe it. Daily conditions must conform to ideal vision of god. Tikkun olam is process of transforming world into this vision. Need to change law, culture, economics, politics. Must perfect the human as one perfects the world. Aim is to bring out the best in humans/world. Various jewish observations r meant to show what perfect/ideal world will look like/ train for it. Jews r capable of sin too--must check this, especially when in power. Humans r not inherently good/bad but can b shaped/improved. Improvement made by getting to know ppl better. As long as there is still improvement 2 b made, distinct jewish role is necessary. Model suggests not an ideal but a direction for personal development.
