Exercise training and music therapy in elderly with depression. Ater 65 the risk of depression increases 3x. 10-20% beneits from the drug, 80-90% from placebo efect. Cogniive therapy had 17% new episodes of depression in comparison to drugs 54: cogniive therapy lasts longer, and produce changes. Listening to music and the efects on the brain, increases cerebral synapic plasicity, increased neurogenesis at hippocampus. Mood disturbances lead to increases in interleukin, which leads to a greater risk of cogniive disturbances and depression. Cytokine dosage can be used as a parameter for evaluaing efeciveness of therapy. Primary aim: determine whether exposure to music and pa can have a posiive efect on mood on the elderly sufering from depression. Secondary aim: evaluate the efecive inluence of aerobic pa on the concurrent disturbances. Randomized controlled trial, 24 elders about 75 years old, 13 females with major depression: light to moderate depression, no drugs. Drug group: anidepressant medicaion with an ssri and serotonergic anidepressant.
