Reading 8 - moore the good is not natural and ross value pluralism . Moore argues that the good" is not reducible to any natural properties: instead, it is something altogether unique in kind. In many cases, when we make statements involving terms such as virtue" and vice" we are only making ethical judgments and not relaying certainty of any kind of truth. Takes a general enquiry nto what is good". How to define what is good" is he most fundamental question in all ethics. Job of ethics = to give correct reasons for thinking that something is good. Does not look for a verbal definition to define good but rather is looking to discover the nature of good. Good = a simple notion just as something like yellow" is a simple notion: we cannot, by any manner, explain to anyone who does not already know what yellow is (the same goes for what good" is)
