Presence of others: behaviours performed in a group are different from behaviours performed individually, norman triplette: observed that we tend to be more attentive at a task around others. When children is put in a room alone with the bobo doll, the body will punch the doll too. The reaction is spontaneous, without any reinforcement: children mimic observed behaviours, even when af icting harm to other people. Conformity: to adjust our behaviour to be coincident with others: muzzier sherif conducted experiment on conformity: Using a perceptual illusion of auto kinetic effect: causes us to imagine movement that never occurred. A dot in the background never moves but you observes it to move. The presence of other"s opinions arti cially in uences perceived auto kinetic movement.
