Document Summary

Food seeking is as much a lifestyle as it is a necessity (it"s a fundamental goal directed behaviour but is also a part of our culture and is a pleasure) In many ways, life is dominated by the consumption of food and drink. In the past it was a constant search for food and nourishment. In the present food is constantly available and often at a low cost. Feeding behaviors are guided by the interaction of the senses taste and smell. Hunger and satiety cycles throughout the day (you have a routine of when you will eat) There are many signals and interactions between the brain and digestive system that drive your feelings of hunger to consume food and drink and satiety signals which lead you to stop. There are key organs that regulate this behaviour: Blood glucose levels regulate feelings of hunger and satiation (if you have low blood glucose levels you will feel hungry)
