All disroders we learn are developmental disorders; as in they change over time. Most of them begin from childhood, even if they show symtoms in adulthood. The ter(cid:373) (cid:858)(cid:272)hildhood disorder (cid:858) is (cid:373)islea(cid:374)i(cid:374)g because all disorders that originate in childhood (which they all do(cid:895) (cid:449)ill persist i(cid:374)to later life. Disorders that are developmental (as they all are) and are of neurological bases; are called neurodevelopmental disorders. Early stages of life are extra important because they are the critical period in development; where our brain and body changes the most and learns the most and fastest. And usually these changes follow a pattern; the child has to learn one skill before acquiring the next. So disruption in development in this critical period, will lead to a sequence of other problems in later life. Ie they say autism (not being able to speak properly) is caused by lacking of communication in early childhood.
