Learning Objective: List two core beliefs of science and describe the steps in
the scientific method.
Science is an approach to knowing the world built on the core principals that:
(1)The Universe operates according to certain natural laws: scientists believe that things
happen in and around us in some kind of orderly fashion that can be described using
rules or laws.
(2)Such laws are discoverable and testable: by carefully observing what happens in the
natural world, we can figure out the laws governing those events.
The scientific Method: How we discover the laws governing the Universe.
The scientific Method uses: (1) inductive and deductive reasoning
(2)Hypothetico-deductive reasoning.
A scientific Approach would involve the steps described below:
Make observations
Develop Hypothesis
Test Hypothesis
Build A Theory
