Is retracted to clean penis, if not can accumulate smegma: three cylindrical spongy bodies, 2 corpus cavernosa: lie side by side on upper part of shaft and continue inward a dist. Surrounded by tight fibrous sleeve that becomes taut w/ erection, making penis stiff and firm: corpus spongiosum: lies underneath, thinner spongy body, runs length of penis and expands at end to form glans. Development of the testes: when fetus first develops testes, they are in abdominal cavity, descend through the lower edge of abdominal wall and down into scrotum in last mnth before birth drag blood supply and nerves w/ them.
