In some cases, wisdom is characterized as predecessor of courage. St. ambrose believed that fortitude w/o justice is a level of evil . Some think that wisdom makes courage unecessary. Others believe courage is a precursor of wisdom: The capacity for courageous action is necessary before one can pursue a noble outcome or common good that is defined by wisdom.
