Solution: instead of falsely advertising that risk has been removed from the situation, alter lang. So that students are prepared to be brave enough to voice their opinions. Many who ended up at the front of the room felt persecuted b/c they couldn"t help that they were white/male/cis/straight/etc . Those ending at back of room said exercise reminded them of painful day-to-day life struggles. Almost all participants (both ends) said the activity made them uncomfortable and violated safe space ideals.
