Blends research on positive development with best psycho-educational practices to evaluate problems of certain youth. Audit is a powerful tool for planning restorative outcomes with youth. Problems are seen as self-defeating coping strategies. Audit develops strategie to create alliance between adult and youth. Audit applies to a wide range of settings including education, child welfare, juvenile justice, mental health, and child and family service. The youth"s voice is missing from many traditional assessments regarding that child. The justice system is more adversarial than analytic. The mental health system is better at diagnosing deviance and disorder than it is at finding restorative solutions. Educators face serious challenges with disruptive students. Schools are required to identify the disability and provide requirements to allow for the youth to receive support. Many youth try to hide their issues. Connection through supportive bonds to others in the child"s ecology. Continuity of relationships sufficient to create a sense of belonging.
