Human resources enables organizations and supports them to meet goals. Hrm is like a triangle of employee productivity, employee satisfaction, and employee. 5 groups of hrm activities: planning human resources, attracting human resources, placing, developing, and evaluating, motivating employees, maintaining high performance. Human resource departments are for servie and support, they exist only to assist employees, managers and the organization. The managers do not have authority to order other managers to accept ideas instead they only have staff authority. Staff authority is the authority to advise, but not direct other managers. Line authority is the authority that managers of operating departments have. This allows them to make decisions about production, performance, and people. The operating managers are the ones who are responsible for promotions, job assignments, and people related decisions.
