Femoral artery passes under inguinal ligament, down thigh then behind leg at lower thigh and becomes the popliteal artery behind the knee, it then divides below the knee. Anterior tibial artery travels along front of leg onto top of foot and becomes the dorsalis pedis artery. Posterior tibial artery travels down back of leg, behind medial malleolus and divides into plantar arteries within foot. Veins: similar pattern to arteries, more veins than arteries in body and are closer to skin.
