Photography and representation art took a long time to develop into realistic representations of things once photography was perfected, although it took 100s of years to perfect artistic skills, a camera always trumped as they are easy and much more convenient: the camera is always going to have a more faithful representation of nature, after the camera was invented, vincent van gogh (example, new style of painting, move away from representing nature or copy it more about emotions artists stopped competing with the camera, picasso started painting in geometrical shapes when painting people, pushing those boundaries, abstract works of art at their beginning, a lot of people who developed the camera, their thought was that they invented a new art form, they saw themselves as artists, something that deserved to be grouped into art, just with new technology, photography is not an art.
