Two most used self-report scales : psychopathic personality inventory (ppi-r): self-report of psychopathic traits, self- report psychopathy scale (srp): Antisocial personality disorder: history of behaviour in which the rights of others are violated. Symptoms: repeatedly engaging in crimes, deceitfulness, impulsivity, irritability, reckless. Psychopathy: personality disorder defined by a collection of interpersonal, affective and behavioural characteristics including manipulation, lack of remorse/ empathy, impulsivity and antisocial behaviours. Hare psychopathy checklist-revised: popular method of assessing: semi-structured interview, assesses interpersonal, affective and behavioural features of, 2 factors: 1) interpersonal/ affective traits 2)unstable/ socially deviant psychopathy traits. Sociopathy: psychopathic traits are assumed to be due to environmental factors: similar traits to psychopaths but develop the traits from poor parenting/ environment.
