Community based strategic policing: community based strategic policing is the model of police work that incorporates the key principles of community policing with crime prevention, crime response, and crime attack approaches. Crime prevention: three main approaches to crime prevention are primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention, police departments are most extensively involved in primary crime prevention programs, but they do participate in secondary and tertiary crime prevention as well. Secondary crime prevention: secondary crime prevention focuses on areas that produce crime and other types of disorder, they focus on identifying high risk offenders and include analyzing the target high crime areas. Crime prevention in aboriginal communities: six nations police operate police athletic league for students (pals) which is directed at high risk youth from the ages of 6-12. Youths from participating schools spend one afternoon per week with officers in a variety of athletic activities.
