Juvenile justice system was created as a response to problems generated by an emerging system of capitalists that served to undermine traditional family supports. Juvenile justice system was the creation of victorian reformers or child savers: child savers: north american middle class reformers who were instrumental in the creation of a separate system of justice for juveniles. They believed that delinquency was the product of bad environments and that the state should act like a parent to save children from these environments: remove them from pare(cid:374)t"s home and place them into an institution. Motivated by a desire to save children from harmful family influences and protect them from full force of criminal law and negative influences of adult criminal offenders. Juvenile delinquents act: act that officially created the canadian juvenile justice system in 1908.
