College undergraduate stress scale (cuss): asses stress caused by life events in college. Positive events produce less distress and fewer physical symptoms happiness can counteract effect of negative events. Cause stress because they require adjustment and preparedness. Chronic stressors: sources of stress that occur continuously and repeatedly. Easy to ignore if they happen once but can cumulate over time and cause stress (long-term impact) Rural environment: isolation, lack of access to amenities (health care)
