When we were born, was our life already planned for us or are we products. Socialization: a learning process that involves development or changes in the individual"s sense of self. Primary socialization is the socialization that occurs during childhood. Secondary socialization is the socialization that occurs later in life. Habitus (pierre bourdieu) our often unconscious bodily knowledges and habits. Body takes on this way that makes us understand the world, we are tuned to a certain standard. Socialization as an end result internalization of things that are important. Internalization taking social norms, roles, and values into one"s own mind. We tend to reproduce our actions without even thinking about it. Society priming factor responsible for how individuals learned to think and behave. Discovered in 1970: locked in an isolated room. Father disallowed her to talk or make any noise in her life. Strapped to a potty chair: 13 years old appeared to be 6.
