Successful applicaion of behavior modiicaion has been documented in populaions ranging from persons with profound learning disabiliies to the highly intelligent, the young to the old, from controlled insituional programs to varied community seings. Behavioral techniques have been applied to help parents teach their children to walk, develop iniial language skills, use the toilet, and perform household skills, as well as solving problem behaviors such as aggression, nail biing, compliance problems and more. A behavior program called triple p posiive parening program has been demonstrated to be an efecive, muli-level parening program to prevent and treat sever behavioral, emoional, and developmental problems in children. Since the early 1960"s, behavior modiicaion applicaions in classrooms have progressed on several fronts. Many applicaions in elementary schools were iniially developed to change student behaviors that were incompaible or disrupive with academic learning. Other behavioral applicaions have involved modifying behavior directly, including oral reading, reading comprehension, etc.
